Under the auspices of the National Agency for the Development of Aquaculture (ANDA), the third edition of the Marine Aquaculture Forum took place on February 2, 2024 in Tangier, under the chairmanship of His Excellency Mr. Mohammed Sadiki, Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests.

This edition, focused on the theme of the “Strong Partnership for a Sustainable Aquaculture Industry”, welcomed Spain as guest of honour. It was a unique occasion to reaffirm the mutual commitment of the two nations to work closely together to strengthen their bilateral cooperation, particularly in the strategic field of aquaculture.
The significant increase in aquaculture activity in Morocco plays a central role in the country’s blue economy. Currently, the sector has 143 farms spread over various regions of the Kingdom, generating an annual production of more than 75,000 tonnes and creating 1,700 direct jobs. In addition, 66 projects are currently being installed, with an annual production of about 24,000 tons and the creation of approximately 626 direct jobs.
This remarkable achievement is due to the carefully mapped development vision of the ANDA, which has established a program to simplify procedures for investors, proactively accompany them and stimulate them on their way.
Enrique Amaré, CEO of Smartwater Planet, took advantage of the forum to explain the objectives of the Sea2See project to the authorities and distinguished representatives of the Seafood industry present.
