The SEA2SEE Project marked a successful participation at this year’s Conxemar 2025 Exhibition, one of the most prominent international gatherings for the frozen seafood industry. The event once again proved to be an exceptional platform for dialogue, networking and collaboration across the seafood value chain.
Bringing Trust, Tech, and Traceability to the Forefront
During two days of the exhibition, the SEA2SEE team engaged with a wide range of stakeholders – from seafood producers and distributors to technology platforms and research organizations – all sharing a common interest in transparency, sustainability and innovation.
At the ANFACO-CYTMA booth, visitors explored the SEA2SEE blockchain-powered traceability platform, designed to ensure verified digital records and real-time data sharing from catch to plate. The following day, at the Xunta de Galicia booth, the team presented how SEA2SEE’s professional and consumer-facing applications enable both businesses and end users to make informed, responsible seafood choices.
Strong Interest from Industry and Technology Actors
A number of key companies and organizations were among the attendees interested in learning details about the SEA2SEE solutions:
- Armadora Pereira – representatives from the company’s fishing and processing division discussed the applicability of traceability tools across their fleet and production lines.
- Pescados Ibañez – wholesalers specialized in fresh and frozen fish such as sardine, tuna, swordfish, and anchovy, exploring digital solutions for improved product transparency.
- Lanzal – a major supplier for the HoReCa sector, interested in consumer-oriented applications to enhance trust in seafood sourcing.
- Iberconsa – leading processor and distributor of frozen seafood (including hake, prawns, and squid) who requested the full presentation to learn more about SEA2SEE’s digital architecture.
- PTEPA (Plataforma Tecnológica Española de la Pesca y la Acuicultura) – the Spanish technological platform for fisheries and aquaculture, underlining the project’s alignment with ongoing R&D and innovation initiatives in the sector.
Representatives from Pescanova, Docuten, and Marfrío also attended the presentation and participated in the follow on discussion.
The event also attracted media attention, with journalists from Industrias Pesqueras, Atlántico, and local television channels attending the presentation and interviews, further amplifying the project’s visibility within the regional Spanish seafood community.
Collaboration for a Transparent Seafood Future
The discussions at Conxemar demonstrated the increasing demand for trustworthy digital traceability systems and highlighted SEA2SEE’s potential to support compliance, improve supply chain integrity and enhance consumer confidence.
“Events like Conxemar are much more than exhibitions. I would say that they are promoters for collaboration and innovation,” noted Carlos Mazorra, SEA2SEE Coordinator and SmartWater Planet Innovation Director. “They provide the ideal setting to connect with stakeholders who share our commitment to a transparent, data-driven and sustainable seafood sector.”
The SEA2SEE Project extends its gratitude to all partners, companies, and visitors who joined the discussions in Vigo. Together, we continue to advance digital solutions that bring trust, tech and traceability to life.
