The European Maritime Day (EMD) is the yearly EU event gathering actors working on maritime affairs and promoting sustainable blue growth. As a major reunion of European stakeholders, this year’s edition will take place in the city of Svendborg, Denmark, 30 – 31 May 2024.

Beyond the two-day conference, the event will encompass a diverse range of exhibitors from across Europe, showcasing the innovative potential and investment opportunities within the blue economy, with stakeholder workshops at the core of the conference.

Workshops will be organized around the following themes:

  • Food security (blue biotechnology, aquaculture, fisheries, algae, biodiversity etc.)
  • Maritime security (surveillance, defence etc.)
  • Blue energy (marine renewable energy, alternative fuels, energy transition, decarbonisation, desalination, port adaptation etc.)
  • Enablers (marine research, innovation, technology, observation, blue skills, MSP, digitalisation, investment etc.)
  • Maritime cooperation (regional, sea-basins, Civil Society, stakeholder relations etc.)

The EMD remains the perfect setting for fostering collaboration, and providing tangible contribution to the EU agenda for the sustainable management of ocean resources. It is an opportunity to promote partnerships, networking and new contacts, being the place to discover novel ideas and perspectives that could add to the European Maritime Policy.
