SUMMARY:2024 Ocean Decade Conference Delivering the science we need for the ocean we want
DESCRIPTION:2024 celebrates the fourth year of the implementation of the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030). Led by UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission\, the Ocean Decade has already united numerous partners globally\, initiating the delivery of the necessary science for the ocean we aim to have.  \nCentered on the theme of ‘delivering the science we need for the ocean we want\,’ the 2024 Ocean Decade Conference will be hosted by the Government of Spain in Barcelona\, from April 10 to 12\, 2024. It will gather the global Ocean Decade community and partners\, with the main goal to celebrate the achievements so far\, focusing on also establishing collective priorities for the future. The event will be the highlight of the Ocean Decade Week\, spanning from April 8 to 12\, 2024. \nA pivotal milestone on the path to 2030\, the conference will encompass a spectrum of Ocean Decade Challenges\, considering critical issues such as climate change\, food security\, sustainable biodiversity management\, a sustainable ocean economy\, pollution\, and natural hazards. \nFrom April 10 to 12\, 2024\, the conference will lay the groundwork for enhancing the sustainable management of the ocean and fostering science-based innovation on a global to local scale. \nPartners that engage in the conference will also have the opportunity to enhance the official program by engaging on Satellite Events. \nProgram here: https://oceandecade-conference.com/programme.php \nRegistration: https://oceandecade-conference.com/registration.php
